Small business owners typically find their days jam-packed with things that need to be done. One important aspect of growth in any business is learning to increase your staying power in your industry. Consumers are wired and online. Social networking sites offer the small owner a window of opportunity to further their brand.

Here’s an enormous number: 750 Million. In July 2011, Facebook racked up 750 million active users and counting. This social networking giant, launched in 2004, is one of the most visited websites globally. Chances are good that a number of your target consumers are avid users of this site. Small business owners can create or join groups geared to attract potential and current clients, or network with other small business owners.  Customers may even tag you in a post to express what a good experience they’ve had with your business.

Starting a blog for your company is another way to reach consumers on the internet. Sites such as Tumblr, WordPress, and Blogger allow you to set up free blog space to add an extra element to your business networking. Most sites let you post pictures and videos, which you can use to your advantage. Alerting followers of upcoming sales, specials or events is simple to do.

Social networking sites are the way people stay connected. They share their experiences, likes, and dislikes. By adding social networking to your marketing plan, you are able to reach people. Besides finding local consumers, you can introduce your brand to the world-at-large.

Making Money Online

In a world where billions are trapped in poverty and unemployment is sky-high, it is imperative for one to find a way to survive. In other words, you have to find a way to make decent money. Decent because getting money from criminal activities will eventually lead to doom. However, making money can be a very difficult and an almost impossible task for many. This is evident with the countless number of people living in squalor on this planet of ours, although this should not be the case.

This is the 21st century and information drives everything. As a popular saying goes, if you are not informed, then you are deformed. If you want to make money in a century as this, all you need is information, which you will then act upon.

The Internet is a very good place to make money. This is true even if the source is legal or not. However, it will be wise and advisable to keep it clean. The Internet is like one huge marketplace where there are buyers and sellers. As long as you have something valuable to sell, then you will always find a seller.

At this point, the next thing that will come to your mind is what to sell. Although the Internet is virtual in nature, you can sell tangible materials and goods online. This can be done on websites such as Ebay and Amazon. However, in a case where you do not have any tangible material to offer for sale, then you can offer your skills and then charge.

A very good example of this is guidance and counseling. You can advise and counsel many troubled souls over the Internet. It could be on issues of marriage, friendship, education or even employment. However, you must always bear in mind that money must never be your sole motivation; you must always have the interest of your client at heart.
